Vision au réveil après un cauchemar
Ce photomontage a été effectué en 2012. Il montre la tête du tyran Richard III et la vision de ce qui reste de son cauchemar juste avant le réveil. La tête est tirée du tableau de David Garrick as Richard III (1745), by William Hogarth. Le tableau représente l’acte 5 scène 3 de la pièce de Shakespeare Richard III dans laquelle le héro éponyme se réveille d’un cauchemar dans lequel il a vu les fantômes de ses victimes. Il se réveille en criant « Jesus » pour qu’il lui vienne en aide et il se rend compte qu’il est seul au monde et qu’il ne peut même pas s’apitoyer sur lui-même.
L’image peut être interprétée dans l’autre sens. Ce serait une personne qui sort d’un rêve dans lequel elle a été tyrannisée et sa vision au réveil est que ce tyran est tout petit et qu’autour, il y a une vie riche, encore vague (ce que représentent les nuages) mais pleine d’espoir (ce que représente la galaxie pleine de couleurs). De manière métaphorique, cela peut être la tyrannie d’une maladie par exemple.
This photomontage was done in 2012. It shows the head of the tyrant Richard III and the vision of what remains of his nightmare just before waking up. The head is taken from the painting of David Garrick as Richard III (1745), by William Hogarth. The painting depicts act 5 scene 3 of Shakespeare’s play Richard III in which the eponymous hero wakes up from a nightmare in which he saw the ghosts of his victims. He wakes up crying “Jesus” to help him and he realizes that he is alone in the world and can not even feel sorry for himself. The image can be interpreted the other way. It is a person who comes out of a dream in which he/she has been tyrannized and his/her vision on awakening is that this tyrant is very small and that around there is a rich life, still vague (what the clouds represent) but full of hope (what the galaxy full of colors represents). Metaphorically, it can be the tyranny of a disease for instance.
