Chicken or Pork nuggets

Nuggets de porc ou de poulet

Don’t buy industrial nuggets.

Make them yourself; it doesn’t take any longer than defrosting them, and it’s very simple.

They are made with chickens fed type 2 corn. The meat is minced and mixed with flour made from the same corn and high fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which is also derived from corn. The breading is made with corn starch. This corn is subsidized and paid for by taxpayers, making it almost free for manufacturers. There is very little meat. They are made with connective tissue (which connects the muscles to the bone) dissolved in acid (often citric acid). The meat is sometimes mixed with ground bones. It is animal protein, but it is not meat. The protein structure is destroyed by the acid treatment and becomes indigestible, meaning that the body cannot use the protein as it is; the body converts it into triglycerides (which are transported by “bad” cholesterol and promote strokes). Only fructose is digested.

Choose boneless chicken or pork strips: chicken breast, chicken thigh steak, pork shoulder, etc. Choose meat with a red label, organic label, or local label.

To keep the meat tender, you can marinate it (optional) and bread it to prevent it from drying out.

1. Cut about 200g of pork or chicken into pieces of the desired size for nuggets.

2. Optional to tenderize the meat: Add a teaspoon of soy sauce and a teaspoon of spices (your choice: ras el hanout, curry, ginger, etc.). Add a teaspoon of vinegar. Mix well.

3. Add three tablespoons of flour (any type: wheat, spelt, rye, etc.). Spread evenly over the meat.

4. Beat a whole egg. Add it and mix well.

5. Add 4 tablespoons of breadcrumbs. Spread evenly over the meat.

6. Heat some seed oil (any type: sunflower, canola, etc.). Place the pieces of meat one by one in the hot oil.

7. Remove the pieces of meat when they are golden brown.

For a quicker recipe:

1. Cut approximately 200g of pork or chicken into pieces of the desired size for nuggets.

2. Beat an egg in a bowl, then add the pieces of meat. Mix well so that the egg coats all the meat.

3. Add flour and mix well.

4. Heat some seed oil (any type: sunflower, rapeseed, etc.). Place the pieces of meat one by one in the hot oil.

5. Remove the pieces of meat when they are golden brown.

For an egg-free recipe

1.Cut 150g of chicken or pork into the desired size for your nuggets.

2.Place in a bowl and add 20g flour (any kind, wheat, spelt, rye, etc.). Cover all pieces well.

3.Optional: add half a teaspoon of spices (your choice: Ras-el-hanout, curry, ginger, etc.).

4.Heat some seed oil (your choice: sunflower, rapeseed, etc.). Place meat pieces one by one in the hot oil.

5.Remove when browned.
